I listen, and I forget
I see, and I remember
I do, and I understand

Sculpture: Kindred Spirits

Kindred Spirits, Cotton woodblock printed scraps and wire, 14" x 14", 2024

I have been cataloguing a vast collection of woodblocks at the Kin Woodblock Print Studio in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, as part of my Fulbright project entitled, Wildflowers and Plants Bring People Together. When I saw bags of scraps in the sewing room of the print studio, I asked if I could collect them and make a wreath. This is our first collaboration.

The beauty of chaos is finding a kindred spirit without words, but an understanding of meaning.

Exhibited at the 42nd Annual Wreath Interpretations Exhibition at the Arsenal Gallery, New York.
